Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon butter

Directions

  1. Gather all ingredients.

  2. Sift flour into a bowl.

  3. Add baking powder and salt and whisk until fully incorporated.

  4. Cut butter into flour mixture using a pastry cutter until evenly combined.

  5. Use this homemade baking mix in recipes that call for baking mix, or store it in an airtight container in the refrigerator and use it within 2 to 3 weeks.

Cook’s Note

Shortening or oil can be used in place of butter if desired. If using melted butter, be sure to evenly disperse the butter as much as possible.
