Hamburger Taco Rice Skillet

Here’s a simple, comforting recipe you can use with hamburger, rice, and taco seasoning — quick, cozy, and weeknight-friendly:

Hamburger Taco Rice Skillet

Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or 2 tbsp homemade)
  • 1 cup uncooked rice (white or jasmine works best)
  • 2 cups beef broth or water
  • 1 small onion, chopped (optional)
  • 1 cup corn or black beans (optional)
  • Shredded cheese for topping (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Brown the hamburger in a large skillet. If using onion, add it and sauté until soft.
  2. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in taco seasoning.
  4. Add rice and broth. Mix well.
  5. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and let simmer 15–18 minutes, until rice is tender.
  6. Add corn/beans if using and warm through.
  7. Top with cheese, sour cream, or salsa if you want.

Notes:

  • You can easily make this into bowls by adding lettuce and tomatoes.
  • Also great wrapped in tortillas for kid-friendly “taco rice burritos.”
